1. Hi Georgia, it’s great to find out more about your business. Can you tell us why you started Halston Marketing?
I started the company because I wanted to do something different. I’ve been in marketing for ten years and I really wanted to learn more about the B2B side of marketing and about the world of business in general.
2. Can you highlight any of your successes so far?
The greatest success has been in building a strong and engaged team. I have an amazing set of people around me who have supported the company’s growth over the past two years and seeing my team members learn and grow as marketing practitioners has been the most fulfilling part of the process.
Starting the company from home and dealing with isolation after being part of a bigger team for so long was quite daunting. But as soon as I started to build my network of fellow entrepreneurs and building up my own company, I realised there’s a whole raft of support out there.
3. What would be your biggest piece of advice to other female entrepreneurs just starting out?
The right time is now. If you’re asking yourself that question, that is the answer. If you keep putting things off until next week, month or year, it’s precious time you could be spending building something you can be proud of.
Honestly, when you get into the swing of things you start thinking about the time you wasted considering making the leap.
4. Thanks Georgia, can you tell us why the campaign resonated with you?
I’m drawn to any initiative where I’m able, in some form, to inspire others. I’m always looking for ways to give back and share the story of my, comparatively humble, successes so far. Even if I only reach or inspire one person, just to make a positive change, it’s worth getting involved.
5. And is there anything else you’d like to add?
I’d just like to echo the sentiment of the campaign and really help to build a culture where women are supportive of each other in business and we’re never afraid to ask tough questions.
